An amazing CLASSIC!
18 October 2020I have a few Ka-Bar blades and I love them because they are always of the best quality and made to stand up to severe punishment in any conditions. Well, the Ka-Bar Becker BK7 is no exception and is one of the most respected knives in the world because it is a true "jack of all trades" amongst survival knives... At 12" long overall it is a larger size, full-tang fixed-blade knife with a thick blade and an overall weight that shows it means business - but at the same time it is lightweight enough to make it an excellent middle ground between carrying a fixed-blade knife and an axe/machete. This spectacular knife comes out of the box very sharp and the blade carries a thick coating to protect the 1095 Cro-Van steel from rusting. I like this feature and with some careful oiling this blade will hold up to years of abuse. This is an amazing classic of a knife, and if you can afford it you will get a workhorse for tinder shavings off a small piece of gumtree bark, cutting branches of pretty much any size, chopping logs, basic skinning and even combat and defence should you ever need it. The sheath is nylon and basic but functional - nothing too fancy and it is quiet and will hold up to plenty of abuse, but it would be a good idea to invest in a Kydex sheath for added functionality, and the smooth, grivory handles should also be upgraded to micarta or something more "grippy" whenever the opportunity arises. The handle does feature a lanyard hole so it's wise to invest in a paracord loop for added security, but the shape of the handle actually means the knife sits pretty securely in the hand. With all that said this is a magnificent beast of a knife and the quality of the blade can be felt the moment you hold it in your hand. This is one of my personal favourite knives and on any outdoors adventure it finds it's way into the pack in the very early stages...

Kabar becker bk7
By: Bryce on 20 December 2018I had been curious from the get go with this knife, and finally decided to buy one. Price wise was a bit on the expensive range but its exactly what you pay for and i dont regret the money spent. This knife is a work horse! Fully customisable, sharp straight out of the box. Comfortable to use and handle. I watched a lot of videos on youtube of people putting this knife through a "torture test" trying to break them. They used the knife incorrectly for what a knife is used for. It stood up to it all and more. Its a beast! Highly recommend. You will not be disappointed. Its a kabar. Cant beat'em.
