Elk Ridge Bolo Machete (Black)

Great machete for brush cutting and light branches

This great-looking, 19.5 inch machete from Elk Ridge is more of a kukri design than a true bolo, but it makes a great companion for any trekking adventure. The good thing about this blade is that its stainless steel, and this is the machete material of choice for those that want a sharp machete without the constant need for maintenance. The shape and height will allow you to use it against thick brush and as an axe for small logs, but note that the blade is not very thick which on the one hand means a lighter, more manageable machete, but on the other means it can bend and warp with heavy hitting on thick branches or hardwoods. The handle is great to hold and features double rubber that ensures a pretty firm grip when using it and a lanyard hole is located at the end of the handle for added safety when in use. The machete comes with a pretty standard nylon sheath. Overall this is a great machete is amazing for the price for light brush work, clearing grasses and small branches, but if you want a hardcore blade for chopping up thicker branches or trees for serious camp work then look for a thicker spine on your machete.
