Great macheteBy: Brenos on 29 April 2019My 1st machete and it is awesome, feels really good in the hand easy to control and very effective. Super sharp out of the box cut way beyond expectations and still sharp as new, gave the handle bolts a tighten but as said gave it a massive workout. Would happily recommend this product.

Gerber Gator is Great16 November 2015Much the same as my review of the "Gator JR" which you can view. I did find the JR a little lacking on the force multiplication front due to its size, so I got the full Gator also. I would say the main difference is the weight distribution. There is only 100 grams between them although the full Gator feels more top heavy allowing for that force multiplication I mentioned. It’s worth noting that the full Gator blade is 2cm or so shorter than the whole JR just so you get an idea of the relative size. As a standalone the full Gator is awesome the sheath is a little tight on it, requiring a little gentle manipulation to stop catching the saw teeth on entry. Again replace the rope lanyard with some paracord. The provided rope is not good it feels cheap and an after thought. Over all the full Gator is well equipped for the larger jobs. Both full and JR Gators are easy to use and low effort being so light. The edges hold up well and clean up easily with a sharpening stone. You can tell a high quality product by the low weight and great edge retention on the steel. Great products both of them with two sizes to fill a variety of applications with the Gerber promise delivered.
