Engineered as a serious survival and field tool, the Gerber LMF II Infantry Fixed Blade Survival Knife combines a heavy-duty 420HC blade with a purpose-driven handle and MOLLE-compatible sheath system. Originally developed around demanding military applications, the LMF II is designed to provide cutting, survival and emergency utility in a rugged fixed-blade platform.

The 123mm 420HC stainless-steel blade uses a versatile drop-point profile with a partially serrated cutting edge. The combination provides a substantial plain-edge section for controlled general cutting while adding serrations for tougher materials. A durable black finish completes the field-oriented blade configuration.

The LMF II's construction includes an unusual and deliberate separation between the tang and butt cap. This design provides electrical insulation while also helping absorb shock when the butt of the knife is used for striking. The handle combines glass-filled nylon with a TPV overmould to provide a durable structure and secure gripping surface.

Gerber pairs the knife with a substantial MOLLE-compatible ballistic nylon sheath featuring a fire-retardant coating. The sheath incorporates a built-in blade sharpener, allowing the cutting edge to be maintained in the field without requiring a separate sharpening tool.

At 269mm overall, the LMF II is a full-size survival knife rather than a lightweight everyday fixed blade. The knife itself weighs approximately 331g, increasing to 688g with the complete sheath system.
